First Sunday back
Sat. Sept. 29th
Balzac Community Hall
from 9:00 to 2:00 pm
We are asking that you bring your donations directly to the hall between 3 and 7 pm Friday Sept. 28th. We will be accepting some donations in Sept that can be stored in the choir room but prefer that most of the items be delivered to the hall on Friday evening. This will eliminate items being handled twice. We request that furniture be limited to small items only. No sofas please since we do not have the space to put them.
We are looking for any treasures you may have and items you no longer need or want. However we, cannot accept electronics such as TV’s, DVD players, any computer equipment, stereos, radios , speakers, clothing, shoes, mattresses, cribs, car seats and helmets. If friends or family wish to donate please advise them of the items we cannot take. There will be a separate table for jewelry, linens and collectables.
September 28 at 7pm
Please join us at the game.
Tickets are $21/person, and all are welcome to attend.
Miss Angela will be taking any youth group members who would like to attend, but would love to have as many BUC members as we can. Anyone who would like to join the youth group at Peter’s Drive-in (16 ave, Calgary) at 5pm for a pre-game supper is welcome. For more info or to sign-up for tickets please call Angela Wigglesworth at 587-229-3878 or send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to Clark Spencer (chair of property) and Angelina Pennell (member at large) for serving on the church board. They are no longer able to continue because of other personal commitments.
At this time of year, we support the Veterans Food Bank run by the Calgary Poppy Fund that assists veterans, ex-service, widows & dependents in Calgary & area. Donations of food, socks, mittens, gloves, & toques are needed & can be left in the church food bank bin in the entranceway.
Soap For Hope YYC is an Airdrie based non-profit group who provide basic hygiene kits to individuals and families. Soap for Hope YYC welcomes donations of soap. Their January wish list includes: 1 litre dish detergent, laundry soap, feminine hygiene products. A Donation box is in the church entryway.
Go to the Outreach page to see what is needed at the Airdrie food bank.
Did you know that for every $1 that the Airdrie Food Bank receives they can purchase $3 worth of food items? If you choose to support them in this way, please mark your donation clearly, and BUC will submit all monies received, to the Food Bank.
