BUC Worship At Home Experience Sunday Apr. 18

Date: April 18, 2021/Speaker: Rita Cattell

Rev Rita’s Message – Listen to the full message here

To begin play – This Is The Day https://youtu.be/boVSvvPQS0c

Then say- Jesus came to share the good news of God. He came to share in our joy and sorrows so that we may know God more fully.(Take a moment to name your joys and sorrows… your blessings and burdens.)
Then pray- Holy God, make me attentive to your call in our lives. Help me to notice the things you do around me, the things you stir in my heart, the opportunities that surround me to share your love with others. Guide me in this time of worship, I pray. Amen.

Read the scripture reading- Acts 2:43-47- A Description of the Early Church

“Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.”

Play Lost to Awe and Wonder https://youtu.be/o1xvm3jT2WE

Pray- God of the universe, creator of galaxies and rivers and trees, author of hope and giver of peace, there is no end to the amazing things you have done. Help me to take it all in. Help me to notice your presence all around us. Holy God, you call out to me in many ways. Make me aware of all the places where you are calling me to serve and to give of myself–in areas grand and humble, in forums global and local– and give me a desire to contribute in helpful ways.  Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Then Play Open My Eyes That I May See https://youtu.be/O0-CAf0Z-yw

To end this time of worship say- In the week to come, may I be attuned to the movements and workings of the Spirit around me. May awe and wonder be my starting point and the blessing of God be my guide. Amen.

And then play This Is My Father’s World/ This Is God’s Wondrous World https://youtu.be/2kHxhhyg9cs
