Hello to all my new family at Balzac United! Over the next while I we will get to know each other better, and we can start with my sharing a bit about myself.
I was born and raised in a small town called North Sydney, on beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. After graduating from high school I studied at St. Francis Xavier University, where I earned a Diploma in Jazz Studies, Bachelor of Arts in Music, and a Bachelor of Education. I taught music in several school districts for 18 years before returning to my studies for ministry at the Atlantic School of Theology.
After ordination I moved from Cape Breton to Prince Edward Island, where I served as the minister on a 6-point charge for 8 years. From there I moved west to Medicine Hat, and now I am living in Crossfield and excited to begin a new adventure with Balzac United!
I have 3 children, 2 who live with me, Mark and Shannon, and my oldest son Robbie and his wife Jolene who live in Black Diamond and are expecting their first child in December.
These are the technical facts about my life for now. The fun details will come out as we learn and share and grow together. Come on down (or over or up) to Balzac church on Sunday at 10 and we can continue the conversation in person!
