Land Acknowledgement

“As we gather together, let us pause to remember that we live, work,

and worship on lands that are, by law, the unceded territories of the

nations of Treaty 7. As Christ’s people, may we be people of love, of

truth, and of reconciliation. May we live with respect on this land, and

in peace and friendship with its people.”

Lighting of the Christ Candle

We light this candle because it’s important to do so, even when we

feel as if we are just going through the motions. We show up, even

on the days we don’t feel like it, because we have chosen the way of

Jesus. We have chosen to honour God in the little things and

through the habits we cultivate day by day, week by week, like

lighting this Christ candle.

Call to Worship

We come in worship, seeking God’s guidance and love.

May this time of worship fill us with the Holy Spirit,

to restore our faith and our hope in God’s presence.

Although we are well intended, we need God’s word

to renew our direction and commitment.

May this time of worship strengthen our hearts

to follow God’s way.

God calls us to support each other and draw

on the example of those who went before.

May this time of worship comfort us

with the truth of God’s love throughout the ages.

In worship, let us welcome God into our hearts.

In worship, let us affirm our love of God and

God’s love for us.
